Travel Guide Delhi

Delhi is one of the oldest cities and one among the seven union territory of India. For over the many centuries the place (Delhi Sultanate) was ruled by many dynasties. Surrounded with cities of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, Delhi has everything whether its places to see or food to eat for which you can plan to visit this city. So read the article throughout I will be a travel guide to Delhi, let’s start our counting.

i. India Gate: - Originally called All India War Memorial located in aside of the famous Rajpath. It was built in a memorial of over seventy-thousand soldiers who lost their lives in wars during 1914-1921. This famous monument looks stunning under the lights of moon and street light.

ii. The Red Ford: - Located in the center of Delhi, built by the famous fifth Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in 1639, it is one of the famous place to see in the city. The ford was named after its own massive enclosing walls of red sandstone. One of the main reason that you should visit this historic monument because it was the main residence of Mughal dynasty for about two centuries.

iii. Jama Masjid of Delhi: - The Jama Masjid one of the largest mosque of India was built in 1644 to 1656 with the total cost of one million rupees by the famous Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. Located in the center of old Delhi this mosque is can accommodate more than 25,000 people. Gorgeous piece of old architecture made from red stone, it is one of the heritage place to see in the Delhi.

iv. Akshardham: - Inaugurated in November 2005, this spiritual-cultural campus attracts around 70% of the tourists visiting the city Delhi. The Akshardham temple displays traditional Hindu and Indian culture, spirituality, and architecture.

v. Delhi Metro: - Your trip to Delhi is incomplete without metro. Metro is the most loved and convenient means of transport in Delhi. It’s fast, hassle-free, and luxurious. The Delhi Metro is the largest metro system of the country. The DMRC (Delhi Metro Rail Corporation) has a special metro pass at low price.

Apart from these places, you should also consider visiting Qutub Minar, Lotus Temple, Chandni Chowk, Nehru Planetarium, National Zoological Park, National Rail Museum, Mughal Garden, Parliament House, and Raj Ghat depending upon the amount of time you have. For some of the places like Akshardham you will get the direct metro and for few like the India Gate, you get a nearby metro station called Central Secretariat. Likewise, some of the places are close to each other so arrange your destinations according to distances and enjoy the beauty of city.
